First WDSF Choreographic World Championships

Choreographic.jpg Following a successful 2023 WDSF World Championship Solo Latin in Spain last year, the World DanceSport Federation is delighted to announce another inaugural WDSF Choreographic World Championships Latin. This event is scheduled to be held in, Spain, under auspicious of the Spanish DanceSport Federation.

The Choreographic discipline, which began to take root within numerous National Member Bodies (NMBs) some years ago, has since achieved notable recognition among various countries. The WDSF has taken an initiative to grant this discipline international recognition by establishing Title Events and Ranking Competitions through its regulatory framework. This year, the WDSF World Choreographic Championships Latin will include Junior, Youth, and Adult age categories, all converging at the DanceSport Cambrils event.

This prestigious competition will be part of the broader DanceSport event in Cambrils, which attracts participants from both national and international DanceSport competitions. The DanceSport Cambrils event is set to take place over four days, taking place from March 28 to 31, 2024.

On the second day of the event, which falls on March 29, the WDSF World Choreographic Championships will take center stage. Choreographic discipline, introduced as a new discipline by the World DanceSport Federation in late 2023, is a team competition featuring two distinct disciplines: Latin and Standard. Each participating team is required to have a minimum of 4 athletes, with teams being classified as 'small' if they comprise up to 12 members. Conversely, a large team consists of 12 to 24 athletes.

Participants in the 2023 WDSF Choreographic World Championships can range from Junior to Adult age categories, each competing within their respective age categories. To be eligible for participation, teams must strictly adhere to the rules outlined in the Choreographic Competition rules.

DanceSport Cambrils 2024 will take place at the Municipal Sports Pavilion in Tarragona, Spain. The official website will provide all information, including competition schedules, participant details, ticket availability, and information about the competing countries.
