WDSF Achieves Highest Governance Improvement in Latest ASOIF Assessment

The World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has achieved the highest improvement in governance scores among all International Federations (IFs), as revealed in the latest assessment by the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF).

Significant Improvement in Governance

In the 2023-24 assessment, WDSF achieved a total score of 163, placing it in group B. This marks a substantial improvement from its initial score of 104 in the 2021-22 assessment, representing the highest increase among all IFs evaluated. WDSF's participation in the ASOIF Governance Task Force assessment began shortly after joining ASOIF as an Associate Member in 2021.

Excellence in Transparency

WDSF excelled in the Transparency section, receiving high marks for publishing comprehensive information, including:

  • Annual reports
  • Financial accounts
  • Annual general meeting materials
  • Presidium (board) minutes
  • Event bidding documents

Advancements in Safeguarding

Significant advances were made in safeguarding, including:

  • Appointment of a dedicated safeguarding officer for major events
  • Providing training for athletes, entourages, and officials

Active Monitoring of National Member Bodies

WDSF actively monitors its National Member Bodies, adjusting their status based on activity levels and compliance with WDSF rules. This ensures that all Member Bodies uphold the high standards set by the federation.
