Wuxi (pronounced woo-shee) is located about an hour-and-a-half drive from Shanghai. The city of 7.5 million inhabitants has long been known as hub of cultural and artistic activity and is now pursuing its goal of becoming a major player in the sports world as well.

An economic powerhouse in China, Wuxi is home to a large number of elite sports and entertainment venues. Wuxi hosted a WDSF GrandSlam Series event (Latin and Standard) this July, while also organizing the first annual WDSF Asian DanceSport Festival.

The WDSF events were among an estimated 100 sports events hosted in Wuxi this year alone, according to the Wuxi municipal bureau of sports. Other events have included the World Taekwondo Grand Slam Champions Series, the Wuxi Marathon, and competitions in aquatics, basketball, chess, and table tennis, to name a few.

As the global governing body for all DanceSport disciplines worldwide, the WDSF works daily to develop Breaking at all levels, together with our National Member Bodies.
